This site uses two open source typefaces: Charter and Source Sans Pro.
Charter is a serif font designed in 1987 by Matthew Carter. Inspired by the typography of Pierre Simon Fournier, Carter designed Bitstream Charter to look good even on mid-80s fax machines and printers. The ability to hold up even in low resolution makes Charter work superbly well as a screen font.
Source Sans Pro is a sans serif font designed by Paul D. Hunt in 2012. Designed specifically for user interfaces, Source Sans Pro draws its inspiration from the gothic typefaces of Morris Fuller Benton. Like the headline fonts that influenced it, Source Sans Pro works beautifully for headers and menus.
